Bazi va Zaban was founded to help enrich the Persian cultural identity of children aged five to ten. With so many outside messages and influences, we know how difficult it can be for Persian children living in the United States to fully grasp the rich yet often subtle complexities of Persian culture. Our Saturday school is set up to give children a safe, rich, and most importantly, an enjoyable place to grow, learn, and form a sense of community with children of similar backgrounds and experiences.
While other community or cultural centers may offer Farsi language classes, Bazi va Zaban is a fully functional school with the best teachers around. Our philosophy is to use the Farsi language to teach children the subjects that youth their age already need to learn, including math, art, music, history, and language. But, by learning these subjects in a fun and informative Persian socio-cultural context, children gain not only an understanding of the subject matter, but also an understanding of their own Persian identity.
Our goal is to make Saturdays from 9am to 3pm a time that children look forward to all week long, and a time that parents can use to relax or focus on their own needs with the knowledge that their kids are being watched over, enriched, and educated in a safe and fun environment.
